Weaving Kiosk at Rajalla på Gränsen

In Swedish Haparanda and Finnish Tornio exists a lively on-going cross-border collaboration between Haparanda City Cultural Department and Aine Art Museum. Together with the Luleå Biennial 2022 they organized a residency for artist Rosa Tolnov Clausen where she could set up her Weaving Kiosk – a format inspired by Nordic kiosk culture. In her presentation, Rosa Tolnov Clausen will tell us about the Weaving Kiosk.

Weaving Kiosk

Haparanda City Culture Department and Aine Art Museum have an ongoing collaboration across national borders, in Swedish Haparanda and Finnish Tornio. Together with these two institutions, Rosa Tolnov Clausen will, between 5th of December and 11th of December host Weaving Kiosk workshops in Haparanda and Tornio.

Susan Schuppli Ice Recordings

To coincide with the release of her new LP, Ice Records, artist and researcher Susan Schuppli hosted a live listening event at Havremagasinet Länskonsthall. Ice Records gathers material from Susan’s encounters with scientists, ecologists, activists, communities, and folksingers. From field recordings captured at various glacial sites by researchers in Canada, Svalbard, Norway, and India to a Ladakhi folksong about mountains, rivers, and streams, these tracks take listeners into the sonic worlds of ice.

Weaving circle

In the Luleå Biennial, Ida Isak Westerberg shows her works 2022 Sompasenvouma 1 & 2 that were co-created with a mire in Tornedalen. The works tell us about the making, the location and a multicolored identity. Together with Hemslöjdskonsulenten Region Norrbotten, the biennial offers three digital courses during the autumn, where the basics of weaving will be explored in a free and curious way. The courses will be held by textile artist Ida Isak Westerberg.
